How To Reduce Stress With Meditation

This is the real story which I’m going to tell you. Though I am not a Doctor still I cured young woman without any medicine. That woman’s life changed completely, once she wanted to die but after getting well she now wants to live life queen size.

Meditation is perhaps most closely linked with Buddhism, and indeed it was the main practice through which its founder, Gautama, finally gamed enlightenment. Buddhism has defined many stages of meditation that are practiced in order to achieve the ultimate level of purifying the mind and clearing away of all thoughts and mental images.

It is in the slower alpha waves region that the subconscious mind can be accessed because of the relaxed brainwave state. A steady routine of alpha meditation sessions will reduce your stress and allow more creative solutions to pour from your subconscious.

If you are walking, do so slowly and carefully, aware of the movement of each foot, and the contact with the ground beneath. Follow the example of a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka walking up and down the same path in the forest: he moves slowly, giving total attention to his feet, the movement of his feet, changing pressures on the soles of his feet, and the reaction of the ground to his feet. This is an extremely simple but effective exercise in being truly aware of the present.

For the final part of the meditation you need to try to sharpen your focus. You might want to tune into something that you can hear, or maybe a point that is in the space that you are in. Don’t try to focus on anything that is moving or too distracting or your meditation will not work properly.

Meditation techniques – Two broad categories are outlined in Managing Stress by Brian Luke Seaward:

(1) Concentration or Exclusive

Thoughts focus inwards using mental repetition, visual concentration, repeated sounds, physical repetition, and tactile repetition. Eyes often closed.

(2) Inclusive

In detached observation, the conscious mind accepts whatever arises from the unconscious mind. One important point is that this must be done without judgment or analysis. This meditation is also called access meditation, insightful meditation and mindfulness. Eyes are usually open.

At the conclusion of your guided meditation, your guide will gradually bring you back to a state of normal awareness, leaving you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and relaxed. A guided meditation might be as short as 5 minutes, or as long as an hour, depending on your personal preference. In most cases, a guided meditation of 20 minutes or longer is recommended if you wish to experience a truly deep state of relaxation and maximize the positive benefits.

Watch what you think for they become your words. Watch what you say for they become your actions. Watch your actions as they become your habits. Watch your habits as they become your fate.

Meditation – Improve Physical And Mental Health

Meditation is a group of mental training techniques. You can use meditation to improve mental health and capacity to improve their motivation for their goals and also to help improve physical health. Some of these techniques are very simple, so they can learn from a book or an article; others require the guidance of a qualified meditation teacher.

What is meditation…Most techniques called meditation include these components:
1. You sit or lie in a relaxed position.
2. You breathe regularly. You breathe in deep enough to get enough oxygen. When you breathe out, you relax the muscles so that your lungs are well emptied, but without effort.
3. Stop thinking about everyday problems and issues.
4. You concentrate your thoughts on some sounds, some words that you repeat, some images, some abstract concept or some feeling. All your attention should be appointed to the object you have chosen to focus on.
5. If some foreign thoughts creep in, you just stop this foreign thought, and back to the object of meditation.

The different meditation techniques differ according to the degree of concentration and thoughts are treated as foreigners. In some techniques, the goal is to concentrate so intensely that no foreign thoughts occur at all.

In other techniques, the concentration is more relaxed so that foreign thoughts easily pop up. When these foreign thoughts are discovered, one stops these and goes back to pure meditation in a relaxed manner. Thoughts come, will often be about things you have forgotten or suppressed, and allow you to rediscover hidden memory material. This rediscovery will have a therapeutic effect.

The Effects of Meditation….Meditation has the following effects:
1. Meditation will give you rest and recreation.
2. You learn to relax.
3. You learn to concentrate better on problem-solving.
4. Meditation often has a positive effect on blood pressure.
5. Meditation has beneficial effects on internal body processes, such as circulation, respiration and digestion.
6. Regular meditation will have an effect psychotherapeutically.
7. Regular meditation will facilitate the immune system.
8. Meditation is usually pleasant.

The difference between hypnosis and meditation:
Hypnosis can have some of the same relaxing effects as meditation and psychotherapy. However, when you are in control meditate alone; by hypnosis you let some other person or some mechanical device that you control. Hypnosis does not have an effect on the ability of training to focus.

A simple form of meditation….Here is a simple form of meditation. Through this meditation technique, you should focus on an easy way. This will allow foreign thoughts to pop up. These are treated as one by one they appear. You do the following:

1. Sit in a good chair in a comfortable position.
2. Relax all the muscles, as well as you can.
3. Stop thinking of something, or at least try not to think about anything.
4. Breath out, relaxing the muscles in your breathing apparatus.
5. Repeat the following in 10 – 20 minutes:
– Breath in so deep that you feels you receive enough oxygen.
– Breath out, relax the chest and diaphragm completely.
– Every time you breathe out, I think the word “one” or another simple word inside yourself. You should think the word in an extended form, and so if you hear it inside you, but you should try to avoid using your mouth or voice.
6. If foreign thoughts come in, just stop these thoughts in a relaxed manner, and continue to focus from the breath and the word you repeat.

As you proceed through this meditation, you should feel steadily more relaxed in your mind and body; constantly feel you breathe more efficiently, and that the blood flow throughout your body becomes more efficient. You can also experience increased mental pleasure throughout the meditation.

Effects meditation in Diseases:
Like any type of training, meditation may be exaggerated, so that you get tired and worn out. Therefore you should not meditate so long or so concentrated that you feel tired or mentally emptied.

Meditation may sometimes give problems for people suffering from mental illness, epilepsy, serious heart problems or neurological diseases. On the other hand, meditation can be useful in treating these and other conditions.

People suffering from such conditions should verify the effects that different types of meditation have on their own kinds of health problems before beginning to practice meditation and be cautious if you decide to start meditating. It may be wise to learn meditation from an experienced teacher, psychologist or health professional that use meditation as a module for the treatment of the disease itself.

What You Need To Do To Setup Your Own Meditation Group

Having your own meditation group is a great way to meet new people but it is also a great way to learn new meditation techniques. As you begin your meditation journey you will find new ways to meditate and everyone will have their own ideas and a meditation group is a great way to learn.

If you are new to meditation then joining a meditation group is a great way to start. Sometimes you will find that there may not be a meditation group nearby so you can certainly start your own. When you do start your own meditation group there is a few things you need to consider.

First of all, you need to work out how many people you want to have in your meditation group. If you are new to meditation then it is recommended that you only have 3 or 4 people in your meditation group including yourself. If you have been meditating for some time then you may consider having anywhere up to 10 people however, when you have that many people in a room make sure that your meditation room is an appropriate size.

I recommend that when you are meditating with 10 people that you do it outside because it is much nicer and if you have 10 people outside rather than inside in a warm climate because you may find it gets very uncomfortable over a 20 to 30 minute mediation session. I certainly recommend that you have air-conditioning for this number of people in a small room.

When you are setting up your meditation group, you will need to develop a way to indicate to people how you will bring them out of their meditated state. In many cases the music you are using if it is designed for meditation will do this for you but there is nothing worse than to be brought out of a nice peaceful tranquil state by the blast of a whistle. One retreat I visited did this and they wondered why people got so agitated.

If you are going to host the meditation group at your home makes sure that you find a suitable room with no distractions and very low noise. If you live in a suburb which is extremely noisy or next to a train station then your guest meditators may find it very difficult to get to the first stage in the meditation process so in this case you may consider hosting your meditation group at a local hall or community centre.

The next aspect you need to consider when setting up your meditation group is whether the group will be run as a guided meditation group or simply a group of people meditating together. I recommend that if you are starting out that you do run a guided meditation group and invite someone from one of your local meditation centers to guide each session. Ask them if they will run the session for free in return for them being able to offer their meditation tools at your meditation group. Some meditation practitioners will charge a fee regardless of you offer, simply because that is how they make a living which is fair enough.

If you are starting out I would encourage you to have the same meditation practitioner run guided meditation sessions for a period of up to six months, simply so that you can learn as much as possible from them and to get your basic meditation techniques down pat. After this period though, I would encourage you to invite other meditation practitioners to teach you their meditation techniques.

Remember, there are many different meditation techniques that will help you to improve your life and the more people you get to meet to share there meditation techniques the more rounded and effective your meditation will become.

When you are setting up your meditation group it is also worthwhile trying to get all your meditation partners to be of a similar skill level especially if you are running a guided meditation session. Also make sure you have your room appropriately setup. For example if your meditation room has candles, incense and meditation music then makes sure you use those during your meditation session.

One issue you do need to consider is whether or not any person attending your meditation group is allergic to incense or essential oils. I am a strong believe in using a lavender based incense or essential oil for introductory meditation sessions. The lavender fragrance is the perfect fragrance for relaxing and has been used for many years by religious meditators because of its soothing nature. Other fragrance you may want to consider is sweet violets or oriental jasmine.

Make sure if you are running your meditation group in your meditation room that you have enough meditation pillows for everyone. There is nothing worse than to go to a meditation session only to find that you are sitting on the hard cold floor. It does make getting to that state of mind very difficult. Alternatively, encourage your meditation members to bring there own meditation pillows. Some meditators are very protective of their meditation pillows so do set some careful rules on meditators acceptable behavior at your meditation group.

Finally, how to find your meditation partners …

The best way to find your meditation partners is to check out meditation websites in your local areas or the yellow pages. You will find there maybe a holistic or healing centre nearby. See if they are holding a group meditation session and go along. While you are there invite some of the attendees to have a private meditation session at your home. One thing I will note is that when you are inviting people into your home who you may not be familiar with always make sure that you secure your valuables and I always recommend having a friend you know really well with you so that if anything happens they can support you.

Setting up your own meditation group is a great way to get to know people and can lead to very long friendships. Remember when meditating in a group you are all taking the meditation voyage together as well as on your own. It is fantastic to share your meditation experiences and techniques that you have learned with each other so you can all try them out and help your meditation skills mature.
