Are there employment options for traditional Chinese medicine practitioners?

I am interested in getting my Master’s in Traditional Chinese medicine but am very wary of job opportunities. It appears to me that many Chinese herbalists are self employed. Self employment is very difficult and I’d rather be hired by an employer of some large health corporation such as Kaiser or UCSF Medical center. So my question is, is it possible to be employed with a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine or am I pretty much stuck with private practice or office jobs?

What would be some good starter books for Qi or Traditional Chinese Medicine?

I am a student of the emperor’s long fist style of tai chi chuan, and I am now starting to expand my knowledge of the art. I was wondering if any tai chi practitioners or anyone would happen to know of some introductory books to chi, or Traditional Chinese Medicine?

I meant to ask my teacher, but i forgot and I won’t see him til after easter.

Thanks.

The Seven Minutes Rule & Traditional Chinese Herbs For Premature Ejaculation

Many men are not really sure about their sexual conditions i.e. are they suffering from premature ejaculation? The seven minute rule can really help them to determine whether their ejaculation time is less than normal. While considering various treatments, Traditional Chinese medicine has always given a lot of consideration to men’s health and various problems associated with it.

The seven minute rule

A number of studies have shown that men with premature ejaculation had an average intra-vaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT) of 1.8 minutes, while those with normal ejaculatory function had an IELT of 7.3 minutes. The time period between the beginning of vaginal intromission and the beginning of intra-vaginal ejaculation can be defined as Intra-vaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT). So if a man regularly tends to ejaculate quicker than this, he probably has premature ejaculation. But if he and his partner tend to climax at the same time, his condition cannot be considered as premature ejaculation, even if he ejaculates in less than seven minutes.

Traditional Chinese herbs

There are a number of Chinese herbal treatments focusing on improvement and enhancement of male sexual ability and vigour. That’s the reason, there is such a wide range of Chinese herbs which are traditionally prescribed for the treatment of premature ejaculation.

According to Chinese medication, premature ejaculation can be treated by strengthening the kidney function, because the kidneys are linked to the testicles. It is also believed that the kidneys are a storehouse of ‘Jing’ – a term that can be roughly translated as ‘the sap of life.’ As a man ages, the amount of Jing is presumed to decrease naturally. Several men go for Chinese medicines when they are unable to resolve their premature ejaculation problem with conventional medications or techniques. However, It is essential to first consult with a qualified practitioner who can prescribe suitable herbal medications to improve the frustrating condition. The herbs that are often prescribed for delaying ejaculation and improving sexual vigour in Chinese medicine are as follows:

  • Ho Shou Wu – It is one of the most important herbs used in several Chinese treatments. Like Ginseng, this herb also helps to resolve a variety of male sexual problems, including premature ejaculation.
  • Ginkgo Biloba – This Chinese herb promotes the flow of blood to the genitals and assists in making men’s erections last longer.
  • Horny Goat Weed – For thousands of years, various Chinese medicines have used the Horny Goat Weed for treating premature ejaculation. This herb boosts the levels of nitric oxide in the body, which facilitates in enhancing the flow of blood to the penis. This is essential for sustaining an erection and for delaying the ejaculation.

Other treatments for premature ejaculation

Currently, there are no FDA approved medications that can cure premature ejaculation. However, it can be treated with the help of Priligy (dapoxetine) – a short-acting drug that belongs to a family of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is clinically tested and proven to be an effective medication in the treatment of premature ejaculation. It also promotes better sexual functioning, more satisfactory intercourse, greater ejaculatory control, and therefore reduced personal distress and inter-personal difficulties.
