How much do massage therapist make at a chiropractor’s office?
Posted in Chiropractic on 09/10/2010 05:29 pm by HolisticLivingI’m about to get certified and a chiropractor I worked with to do an externship offered me a job. He’s also asking me to name a price for an hourly wage. I was wonder what I should ask for. Keep in mind this Chiro office doesn’t have any massage tables, so my job is to go from room to room softening tissue as the clients are laying on adjustable tables (rough!). I was thinking 30$/hr. Too high/little?

for what is to be your assignment he will probably offer $10.00/hr. i know several massage therapists who work in chiropractors’ and neurologists’ office. some work at a physical therapy clinic also. none are paid $60,00.00/year at an hourly rate. the ones who make close to that figure are independent contractors in established offices and work on a percentage basis. you have been trained to do much more than the stated duties. ask the chiro to dedicate one room to massage, properly equipped for massage and work a percentage of collections contract. #30% to 40% for you is fair if he does the advertising expense and insurance billing and collections. make certain there is a checks and balance system and the books are always open to you for inspection.
