I for one believe that it is very important to pray and meditate. I normally prefer to wake up early in the morning and devote the first hours of my day to prayer and meditation. I will start the day in prayer and after I have prayed I will take a few minutes and meditate about the day to come. I personally like to enjoy my daily cup of coffee or hot tea during this time. I like to think through the major events of the day during this time and rehearse them over in my mind. In effect I try to visualize each event. When the time comes to execute that event there is no hindrance or hang-ups. Even when things don’t go according to the plan as they do more often than not the plan appears to be flawlessly executed to those who are not in the know. One thing that I have learned is to keep a paper and pen handy for note taking. Sometime you will get ideas which will benefit you greatly in your planning, but I have found that many times I will forget them if I don’t jot them down. There are many times that I have come to the point of execution of an event and couldn’t remember exactly what it was that I was planning to do that would have made it so great. Writing a thing down makes it easier to recall later, so even if you forget your notes it won’t be that hard for you to remember.

I also like to meditate in the evening after the work day has come to a close. The best time for me is right after I have eaten the evening meal and taken a shower. Now after the stresses of the day are over I can think very briefly about the broad strokes of the day to come and meditate on the things which didn’t go right from the previous day. It is good to do this while the day’s events are still fresh in my mind. Now is the time to think about how to avoid the problems which I have just faced. I meditate on the causes and attempt to be very objective about them. Be honest with yourself at this time and admit it if you were the problem. Maybe you weren’t the problem but you unknowingly contributed to it. It is very easy to unwitting become a part of the problem. You must be honest with yourself and realize that everything that you do is not 100% correct all of the time. Once you can be objective evening meditation will help you greatly in terms of self improvement. Apply both of these techniques to your own life and I believe that they will help you out greatly.
