Ayurvedic medicine, originating from India thousands of years ago, is a form of complementary or natuopathic medicine. Your question is not garnering any answers because this is not something most have even heard of.

The foundation of Ayurvdecic medicine is the concept of metabolic types or doshas. The three metabolic body types are vata, pitta and kapha. Most people show a combination of two, such as vata-kapha, as you say yours is. These are roughly equivalent to Sheldon's somatotypes: ectomorphy, mesomorphy and endomorphy.

Please click on the first link below to see the general characteristics of all three of these metabolic body types, focusing on vata and kapha, your two major influences.

According to the principles of Ayurvedic medicine, we do have innate tendencies in this regard, and our reactions to food, exercise and medicine are all affected by our hereditary predispositions. Heridity is just one factor though. We may have a genetic predisposiion to be lean and high-strung, but we can still become obese and low-key with improper eating habits.

All of us are imbalanced in some way, not just you. Our bodies and minds strive for balance, for homeostasis. Use these principles to help guide you in your quest for total health, but don't forget that imbalance is part of the human equation, even if you are a high-wire walker who depends on balance to survive. Don't let a small gust of wind throw you off the wire. Just make adjustments as necessary.

God bless you and your efforts to become as healthy as you can be. Self-knowledge is the most important kind, and you can only take effective charge of your own health armed with knowledge.
